Welcome to our first "Surf with Your Dog" event.
We're starting early to take advantage of legal off-leash hours and to avoid the crowds.
Note: the water at Rockaway isn't deep where we'll be catching waves — if you fall off, you can swim or stand up easily.
Parking: you are welcome to park anywhere, but the meetup is on 67th Street, right on the beach.
Bring a towel for both you and your dog to brush sand off at the end of the day; there will be a rinse station at our van.
This event runs from 6:00–8:00 a.m.
Arrive around 6:00 a.m. for off-leash social time.
At 6:30 a short run will warm everyone up.
At 7:00 a.m. you’ll meet surf instructors, get fitted in a wetsuit and a dog life jacket, and pick up your board.
From about 7:30–8:00 a.m. — surf’s up!
Please let me know what size your dog wears in a harness, shirt, or life jacket so we can make sure the right size is on hand.
